Descrizione:
The CIMRC is a public association of 19 municipalities with the fol-lowing purposes: promoting the planning and management of the strategy of economic, social and environmental development of the covered territory; linking municipal investments of inter-mu-nicipal interest; participating in the management of programs sup-porting regional development; and planning the actions of local authorities.
The CIMRC is also responsible for the planning of the offer of vo-cational training courses, working directly with the regional ser-vices of the ministry of education and national agency for voca-tional training. Recently it has received delegated responsibilities at the level of Urban Authorities.
Additionally, an Intermunicipal Network of Municipal Libraries was created, supported by a protocol between the 19 municipali-ties that make up the CIMRC and the Direção-Geral dos Livros, Ar-quivos e Bibliotecas (DGLAB). This network has as its main pur-poses the realization and operationalization of actions and pro-jects, in partnership between the CIM RC, the 19 municipalities and DGLAB and other local, regional, national and / or interna-tional institutions. As well as supporting and promoting aware-ness and information actions for the community, in partnership with school libraries and providing training for technicians from municipal libraries. This network also intends to create common projects to promote reading, conservation and preservation of in-tangible heritage.
In the last decade, it has been seen an increasing concern with the migrant community and minority groups in European countries given the challenges they face, stemming from stereotypes, prej-udice and xenophobic behaviour. In this sense, our project has as its main objective the creation of a permanent network of collaboration between partners in order to raise awareness among the transnational community, encour-aging the democratic and civic participation of the EU citizens and reinforcing European citizenship.Only through intercultural dialogue that promotes the develop-ment of a multifaceted European identity based on values of com-mon tolerance and mutual understanding will we be able to change the European attitude towards migrants, enabling them to become full members of society in the near future.
