Medulin is a coastal municipality located north-east of Croatia, on the peninsula named Istria, which presents the most tourist region of Croatia. We are located south of the Istrian peninsula (8 km from the city Pula - Pula), and we have about 6,500 inhabitants in eight settlements located mostly along the coast and more than 2,800,000 annual tourist nights. Once a fishing village, today it has become one of the main tourist centers of Croatia.
The municipality is well known for it's efforts to keep the culture and history close to it's citizens, that's why in every moment it has many ongoing projects of redevelopment and upgrade of many cultural treasures that Medulin keeps close to it's heart. One of them is surely the famous „Malin na vitar“, a newly reconstruced fully functioning windmill and the main attraction of municipality. Since the reconstruction in 2016. Medulin is unique in Croatia for having the only windmill of this kind in our area of the Mediterranean.
Currently in Medulin, among other projects, the project "Archaeological Park Vizula" (archaeological site of the antiquity of Roman civilization) is underway. Its main objective, through thematic investments based on restoration and enhancement of cultural heritage, is to contribute to the sustainable socio-economic development of the municipality as a recognizable destination for cultural and historical tourism.
