The municipality of Bassano del Grappa has set up a twinning committee which proposes to consolidate the collaboration with the EU city Muhlacker (Germany) and Voiron (France) for action 2.1 (Town TWinning) by extending the friendship pact with others municipalities of the Vicenza area such as Asiago and Gallio, as well as the Italian and EU twinned municipalities. In order to facilitate the exchange of information among European citizens by promoting actions aimed at promoting social inclusion by raising awareness of historical-cultural memory according to the common values ​​of the European Union. The committee aims to involve young people from educational institutions, sports associations, local non-profit bodies and non-profit NGOs in the area to promote education for democratic participation and prevent xenophobic attitudes and / or any other form of intolerance . The actions aim to involve the largest number of citizens by implementing intercultural dialogue and promoting the dissemination of the project with effective, lasting and transferable exchanges to other realities. Dissemination will be guaranteed by local media and through the web: social networks and institutional sites of the subjects involved. For action 2.2 "Network of Towns" municipalities and associations will be involved by strengthening the networks and committees already in place, to make cooperation and temporal continuity more sustainable with the aim of allowing the exchange of good practices by creating a strong link between municipalities. In addition to the twinning already in place, it is hoped that other Italian and EU entities as well as possible partners from third countries will be involved. Recurring events: European youth week, international festival of photography, cinema and short film. Exchange of greeting cards between school institutions. The delegations of the involved municipalities, schools, associations, local authorities propose to promote voluntary and solidarity actions through cultural meetings or debates on topics in line with the objectives of the program trying to promote concrete actions and good practices to be disseminated in the EU.
