We are a small Municipality f about 4,000 inhabitants located in the south east of Sicily . The town is on the coast . Its main activities are Agriculture, fishing and tourism. People here are very  friendly and welcoming  The local government of Portopalo di Capo Passero  is applying for this project i in order to acheve these objectives :1)  foster European citizenship and to improve conditions for civic and democratic participation at Union level.2) Encourage democratic and civic participation of citizens at Union level, by developing citizens' understanding of the Union policy making-process and promoting opportunities for societal and intercultural engagement and volunteering at Union level.We will focus on this priority of the programme :Fostering intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding and combatting the stigmatisation of migrants and minority groups. in particular  we are interested in dealing with the gender equality issue , the migrants   integration within  our community who  will be encouraged to improve our environmental  conditions by enhancing the local people' s  concern on the respect of nature . We are looking for partners living in small towns  from the peripheral northern part of Europe   having the same interests  in the above issues as ours
