Considering sport and the values underlying it an incomparable tool for conveying the principles of international cooperation, the Municipality of Selvazzano Dentro (PD) aims to propose a project that highlights the values of sport, as a virtuous means of aggregation and fight against social exclusion. In view of the now upcoming Olympic Event (Milan-Cortina 2026), which will proudly see Italy host a melting pot of different peoples and cultures, the Municipality of Selvazzano Dentro proposes the realization of a cycle of four conferences in four different European Municipalities, aimed at conveying the highest principles of Olympism, referred to in Chapter 1 of the Olympic Charter: non-discrimination, gender equality and sustainable development. Therefore - some topics worthy of development in the conference were identified, in order to stimulate the future adoption of a common discipline and the full equalization of the different thresholds of sensitivity and protection. The proposed themes are: Sport and disability; Sport and gender discrimination; Women's sport, developments and critical issues; Sport and social inclusion of new citizens and migrants; Sport as a tool for the rehabilitation and social reintegration of the convict. The project also aims to create a consolidated network of Municipalities and Associations that collaborate in a long-term perspective: a network to make cooperation more sustainable and lasting, a continental platform for the exchange of good practices capable of maximizing the impact of the program itself.
