Assist is a non-profit Volunteers Association founded in 1999 to promote and defend the rights and the image of female athletes and sport workers, to foster equality and respect in sport, contrast gender stereotypes and discriminations in sport, as well as promote a positive sports culture in the community. Assist aims at protecting and representing the rights of female athletes of all sport disciplines at professional level, as well as of all the staff employed in the field of sport (trainers, sport managers, professional experts on sport communication). Assist also aims at raising awareness about all topics concerning Equal rights in sport, Equal access to sports practice and sports culture in general, cooperating with schools, universities, institutions, NGOs. In order to reach these objectives, Assist organizes national events, campaigns and conferences and produces Promotional materials and media campaigns.

Abstract: We would like to develop proposals focused on gender equaliy in sports, especially by contrasting stereotypes and gender bias among youth to overcome barriers and facilitate a more equal participation of girls and women in sports, as a contribution to a more equal and inclusive society. We could work on remembrance, depending on next 2020 priorities, on development of gender equality in European sports history, but most of all we would like to develop a proposal on civic society projects priority to promote and European bottom up network for contrasting stereotypes and gender based discriminations in sports and physical activities among youth in particular. We are looking for public and no profit organizations with expertise and experience in gender equality issues, contrast to stereotypes and gender based discriminations with specific attention on new generations and young athletes. We are also very interested to propose our organization as partner for proposals that will be focused on topics related to gender equality, contrast to gender based stereotypes and discriminations, equality using sports just as a powerful tool to vehicle these messages in our communities and in particular among youth. We have experience in Erasmus+ programme, and some of our staff is also experienced in managing EU for Citizens projects.
