Abstract:
The gender inequalities mark a democratic deficit in EU governance and represent missed opportunities for achieving an inclusive and pluralistic Europe, where women play an active role in the European integration and in the building of a EU identity. The project will promote the recognizing of the historic achievements of women in all facets of life and how these achievement had - and have - a huge impact on issues relating to identity, human rights, respect for diversity and democracy that are at the core of European values. Women as leaders and influential forces in our European society.  Main objectives are: to shape a culture of memory that incorporates experiences of women in their contribution to the economic and social growth of EU and to stimulate the wide-public-knowledge about the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. The project has two historical approaches: - The first one focuses on the history and impact of European women in the fight against any form of totalitarianism that befell Europe in the 20th century, with a bottom-up approach and local dimension.  - The second one deals with women’s histories as producer of collective memory, contributing to the emergence of a EU ‘imagined community’.We are LLOKING FOR RELIABLE PARTNERS fullfilling the following criteria: - experience working with EUforCit programs and project management -experience to tackle political, historical, human rights issues and merging it with modern means of communication thus reaching various target groups -ability to establish local networks of partners from NGOs, cultural and educational organizations, academia -experience working with the following topics: equality, education, non-formal learning, remembrance, human rights, youth dialogue, civic engagement
